EBARA’s Turbo Refrigerator Wins 2015 HVAC Equipment and Systems Innovation Award

The highly efficient turbo refrigerator of Model RTBF series manufactured by our Group company, Yantai Ebara Air Conditioning Equipment Co., Ltd. (“Yantai Ebara”; headquarters: Shandong, China), won the first HVAC(Heating Ventilating and Air-conditioning )Equipment and Systems Innovation Award at the industry’s 2015 annual meeting and HVAC(Heating Ventilating and Air-conditioning) and Heat-pump Industry Development Summit Forum , which was held for the first time in Nanjing.
The turbo refrigerator is the first refrigerator in China to use low pressure refrigerants with a low environmental burden (HFC245fa). This product supports smaller capacities than conventional products, ranging from 774 kW (220USRT) to 5,274 kW (1500USRT), and it has achieved high efficiency at a maximum of COP※1 7.25 (based on GB standards※2 ) . It was given this award in recognition of its outstanding performance.

Since developing Japan’s first turbo refrigerator in 1930, EBARA has built up a proud record of achievements in Japan, China, and other countries around the world. Yantai Ebara will continue working to help address global warming through the provision of products and services in the future.

※1 COP:Abbreviation of “Coefficient of Performance.” This indicator shows the energy consumption efficiency of air conditioners, refrigerators, and other similar devices. It also represents the air-conditioning capabilities provided by the consumed energy. The higher the numerical figure, the higher the energy-saving performance is.
