EBARA CORPORATION (“EBARA”) donated booster pump units as well as cutaways of pump to the University of Indonesia on November 14th, as a part of our international cooperation activities together with technical trainings. The objective is to promote their understanding of pump structure, control system and so on. In the meanwhile the donation event took place, a pump seminar was held at the University of Indonesia as well. More than 70 students and teachers who study mechanical engineering attended.
1.Background
As its economy grows, Indonesia urgently needs to develop the water infrastructure along with urban development. The country is faced with a shortage of engineers, who has knowledge and experiences of planning pump facilities at water supply, wastewater, and drainage facilities. Universities focus on a development of human resources in the said fields. To date, EBARA has held more than 20 seminars in Indonesia.
2. About Seminars
EBARA has continued to build relationships around the world by providing international cooperation including technical seminars. Since the launch of the EBARA Hatakeyama Memorial Fund in 1989, it has organized more than 270 seminars at different locations around the world with a total of 13,500 participants. In 2019, seven seminars took place in countries such as Cambodia and Ecuador.
3. Future Plan
EBARA will contribute to the development of Southeast Asian and South American countries with our pumps as well as other products and services. In the meanwhile, we provide technical seminars and other international cooperation activities.
