EBARA CORPORATION (EBARA) announces its participation in “Challenge Zero (Challenge Net Zero Carbon Innovation),” an initiative led by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren).
EBARA has identified “conducting comprehensive environmental management” as an issue material to achieving its long-term vision, E-Vision 2030. In pursuing this, EBARA will promote the reduction of CO2 emissions from our business operations and maximize our use of renewable energy to move toward a carbon-neutral world.
The “Challenge Zero (Challenge Net Zero Carbon Innovation)” is an initiative by Keidanren, in collaboration with the Japanese government, to publicize and support actions to create innovation by both domestic and international companies and organizations for the realization of a decarbonized society in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. EBARA will strive to achieve the goals outlined in its long-term vision, E-Vision 2030, by increasing the use of renewable energy and making its products more energy-efficient. EBARA has set specific goals to,
1. Reduce CO2 emissions (Scope 1&2) in 2030 by 26% compared to 2018 emissions, and
2. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to approximately 100 million tons of CO2 through the use of products sold.
The EBARA Group aims to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by tackling the material issues identified in its long-term vision and implementing the medium-term management plan to increase corporate value.
