EBARA CORPORATION (EBARA) joined the "CulNet Consortium" (the Consortium), an open innovation platform for cellular agriculture, established by IntegriCulture Inc. (IntegriCulture)
In our long-term vision, “E-Vision 2030”, we aim to contribute to realization of a sustainable world with ample foods and water. In order to do that, through collaboration with external business partners, we will create a new business by developing new technology or using our existing technical knowledge and respond to foods issues such as the global protein crisis.
In 2050, the world population is projected to reach 10 billion and the depletion of energy, forage, soil, water, foods are rising concerns. In the meanwhile, the marketing of alternative proteins such as plant-based or insect meat, or the development of cultured meat by cell cultures are gaining attention. In order to solve issues such as cost, safety, and logistics and successfully establish as business, the Consortium is set up to call for collaboration in open innovation and build a supply chain system including facility (laboratories, equipment etc.).
EBARA joined the Consortium and will apply fluid technology that is one of our core mainly for pump products. Meanwhile, based on new knowledge and experiences gained from performance verification test at the Consortium together with the existing knowledge and technology, we will develop a new business.
