EBARA Corporation's Ebara (Thailand) Limited (ETL) received an order for a total of four pumps for the Klong Prem Prachakorn Drainage Project by the Bangkok Metropolitan Government.
The lower Chao Phraya River basin including Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is chronically damaged by flooding during the rainy season. Large-scale flooding in 2011 caused economic losses in excess of 4 trillion yen. Bangkok has developed a flood control channel as part of its flood control program.
The Klong Prem Prachakorn Drainage Project will be the construction of the third large-scale drainage tunnel, which was launched after 2005. As we have a track record of delivering our large-scale pumping equipment at more than 1,000 drainage pump stations in Japan as well as products delivered in Bangkok, we have successfully achieved the order.
To date, a total of four facilities was constructed and ordered for this project. Among the five facilities, it will be the third facility for ETL that delivered to the first facility, "Makkasan Drainage Tunnel Project" and the fourth facility, "Nong Bon Drainage Tunnel Project”. It is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
We will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society as set forth in our long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030" by supporting a sustainable society and social infrastructure so that people can live safe and secure life.
The EBARA Group aims to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing material issues identified in its long-term vision and executing the medium-term management plan to increase corporate value.
