Ventilation control in large tunnels

We have more than 60 year’s experience supplying tunnel ventilation systems used to deliver fresh air

Tunnels you pass through everyday, without a second thought ,employ a variety of equipment to deliver fresh air throughout the tunnel. For example, jet fans, such as giant fans on the ceiling, are a powerful source of fresh air. In addition, exhaust fans that discharge contaminated air from inside the tunnels to the outside are also extensively used. Although, emissions of the contaminants from the vehicles have been decreasing due to technological advances, ventilation is still an important element of tunnels, as long tunnels that span several kilometers or tunnels with traffic jams can be filled with exhaust gases.
EBARA has been manufacturing tunnel ventilation fans since 1958 and has installed them in many major tunnels in Japan. These fans use data from measuring equipment to monitor the environment inside the tunnel and implement optimal ventilation control to provide a safe environment for passing vehicles. These fans can also discharge smoke in the event of a fire, contributing to a safe and secure tunnel environment.
