EBARA CORPORATION
Ebara Refrigeration Equipment & System Co., Ltd.
EBARA Refrigeration Equipment and Systems Co., Ltd. (ERS), part of EBARA Group, which introduced the RTBF centrifugal chiller through the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM)*, a bilateral credit system, was the first of its kind.
ERS and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. collaborated on the Project Planning Study (PS) in 2013 and have installed in PT PRIMATEXCO INDONESIA one model RTBF050 centrifugal chiller for the JCM project, which has been subsidized by the Ministry of the Environment (Japan).
The project has gained approval for the JCM methodology from Japan and Indonesia’s JCM Joint Committee and was validated by a third party LRQA Inc. for Project Design Document (PDD). This project was registered as the first JCM project in Japan and Indonesia’s JCM Joint Committee on October 31.
The estimated Green House Gases (GHG) emission reduction is 800 tonCO2 , which contributes to Japanese GHG emission reduction targets for 2020.
EBARA will continue to contribute to the GHG emission reduction through the provision of its products and services.

About JCM Project
JCM project is to facilitate diffusion of leading low carbon technologies, products, systems, services, and infrastructure as well as implementing of mitigation actions, and contributing to the sustainability of developing countries. To evaluate contributions to GHG emission reductions or removals from developed countries in a quantitative manner, mitigation actions are implemented in developing countries and use those emission reductions or removals to achieve emission reduction targets of the developed countries. The development of the JCM Model Project consists of studies, the Project Planning Study (PS), Feasibility Study (FS) ,etc. The study for the development of the JCM Model Project surveys its feasibility. JCM Model Project is subsidized for equipment cost etc. to accomplish GHG emission reduction by the Japanese Government.
