Proportional band

In proportional control, the range of the control amount corresponding to the entire operating range of the actuator, expressed as a percentage of the total scale of the controller.
If the proportional band is wide, the control system is stable but less accurate, and if it is too narrow, it has the tendency to cause hunting.
