The work I am in charge of
I’m in charge of machining the casings and various components for compressors and steam turbines. Even slightly excessive grinding or cutting during machining can immediately lead to defects. I keep a sense of discipline every day.
Changes and evolutions from the past in the monozukuri (manufacturing) field
Sodegaura is a plant that produces large products, and the recent advances in automation are not easy to realize there. So it hasn't changed much. However, I can tell the evolution of the machining tools we use. On the other hand, I believe that people will need skills to produce products just as they had in the past.
What I want to do in future, and my message to young people
Ebara is proud of its large products and large machines. I think it offers a good environment for young people who want to work on big products. If they get the chance, I hope they will actively seek experience to set up a new plant or introduce new machinery. Before joining Ebara, I was involved in a set-up at my young age. The experience gave me confidence.
