Horizontal-shaft pumps for dry starting

Pumps suitable for preventing voltage drop due to starting current

Product Lineup

In order to suppress voltage drop when the horizontal-shaft suction motor drive pump starts, these pumps dry start (low-torque start) at the same time of intaking air, enabling them to transition from full water to drainage during impeller idling.

Features

1. Shortening of work period and construction cost

(1) Can use cage-type electric motors
It solves the problem of high starting currents, allowing the use of inexpensive, easy-to-maintain cage-type electric motors.

(2) Can use low-cost electric motor starting devices
It eliminates the need for expensive starting devices such as inverters or voltage guarantee devices, and allows the use of reactor starters or Korndorfer starters.

2. Simple countermeasures

Simply install a dry starter at the pump inspection port to eliminate the need of a power supply and complicated control measures. (For horizontal-shaft mixed flow pumps)
Therefore, it can also accommodate modification of existing pumps.

3. Applicable pump type and track record of deliveries

・ Horizontal-shaft mixed flow pumps - Track record: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Miyagi Prefecture
・Horizontal-shaft dual-suction volute pumps - Track record: Hokkaido
